The administrative officer will assist broader research and development within the Cultural Learning portfolio. The Cultural Learning team engages with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, young people and communities across the state. The role provides support to associated education and regional programs. This exciting opportunity is suited to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples with an interest in art education and the GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums).
The purpose of the role is to provide administrative support within the QAGOMA Learning Department across Cultural Learning, Regional Services and Education work areas and requires some regional travel and engagement outside of standard office hours.
The position is integral to the timely and accurate delivery of logistical factors underpinning multi-day programs being delivered at QAGOMA and offsite in various locations in regional, rural and remote Queensland, including programs run for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and teachers.
Key relationships:
The position will liaise and communicate with a range of external clients including First Nations Elders and community leaders, teachers, students, professionals working in the creative industries, as well as QAGOMA staff across Departments.
The position reports to the Senior Program Officer, Cultural Learning (Identified).
Key Duties:
Work within a busy team to support the delivery of a range of Cultural Learning, Regional, and Education programs.
Complete administrative duties to provide clear and timely communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to support logistical management and other administrative systems and records.
Communicate with clarity via phone, email and in person to manage bookings and ensure that client needs are documented and catered for in project planning and delivery.
Resolve problems and provide planning support associated with the scheduling.
Coordinate cultural learning programs using established guidelines, protocols, procedures and advice from senior staff.
Plan and prioritise workload to ensure client needs and Learning Department deadlines are met, in accordance with operational requirements and client demand.
