We are seeking an experienced Project Investment Analyst to conduct NPV and IRR analysis for large infrastructure projects ($20m – over $2b) and populate financial sections of business cases. The role also involves financial analysis for pricing decisions and commercial negotiations. The role does NOT use any financial systems and is not involved any corporate performance reporting or financial systems planning.
Key Responsibilities:

Review project costing (for completes and financial assumptions) and resolve identified costing issues with project managers.

Provide insights on project key financial drivers, risks, and conduct sensitivity and scenario analysis.

Advise Project Managers, the Project Assurance Team, and your Manager on identified issues and opportunities, and propose issue resolution actions.

Populate financial sections of business cases, Board papers and government submissions and present results of your financial analysis and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Review or build Discounted Cash Flow (DCF) models in Excel for cost, revenue, land tax, and income tax projections.

Develop costing and pricing models for Unregulated Products and Services (e.g. recycled water, renewable energy) and commercial contracts with developers.

Contribute to improving costing, evaluation, and business case development tools and Excel financial models.
Experience & Skills:
-
Degree in Business, Economics, or Finance (CPA/CA not required).

Ideally experience in advisory/consulting, investment banking, or large asset-intensive organisations (utilities, energy, telecommunications).

Strong people and communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders and facilitate issue resolution. Ability to communicate with clarity and impact.

Independent and proactive in managing and prioritisation of tasks with a focus on delivering results within deadline.
Essential Requirements

At least 5 years of work experience in a relevant business area

Experience with project financial assessments, business case development or business valuations (ideally infrastructure projects)
