About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Hairdresser/Barber to join our growing team in Ashfield, NSW. The successful candidate will have strong technical skills, a customer-focused attitude, and the ability to provide a wide range of hair and grooming services to clients.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Consult with clients and provide advice on hair care, grooming, hairstyles, and suitable hair products.
- Shampoo, condition, and treat hair and scalp to maintain healthy hair.
- Perform hair colouring, bleaching, straightening, perming, and other chemical treatments.
- Cut, trim, and shape hair using scissors, clippers, razors, and other professional tools.
- Style hair according to client preferences, including braiding, hair extensions, and contemporary styling techniques.
- Shave, trim, and groom beards and moustaches to achieve desired looks.
- Clean and sanitise workstations, equipment, and tools in accordance with health and safety standards.
- Manage client bookings, appointments, and process payments when required.
- Maintain a high standard of customer service and contribute to a positive salon environment.
- Clean, colour, cut, and style wigs or hairpieces when required.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant Hairdressing or Barbering qualification, or at least 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV (ANZSCO Skill Level 3)
- Strong knowledge of hair cutting, colouring, styling, and grooming techniques.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced salon environment.
- Knowledge of workplace health, safety, and hygiene standards.
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented attitude.
