About the Role
As a Casual Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality cardiac ultrasound services within a fast-paced and collaborative clinical environment. Working alongside Cardiologists, Medical Officers, Nursing staff and multidisciplinary teams, you will perform a broad range of complex cardiac ultrasound and interventional examinations to support the diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of cardiac patients.
This position offers the opportunity to utilise your advanced clinical skills, exercise independent professional judgement, and contribute to the delivery of safe, patient-centred care. You will be responsible for producing accurate diagnostic information, maintaining high clinical standards, and providing expert support within the Catheter Laboratory service.
About You
You are an experienced and highly skilled accredited Cardiac Sonographer with a passion for delivering outstanding patient care. You bring recent postgraduate experience in cardiac sonography, with demonstrated expertise in performing a comprehensive range of cardiac ultrasound procedures independently and confidently.
You possess strong clinical reasoning and advanced technical proficiency, enabling you to undertake complex examinations and contribute valuable diagnostic insights. Equally important, you are an excellent communicator who builds positive relationships with patients, carers, referring clinicians and colleagues. Your professional approach, attention to detail and commitment to quality make you a valuable member of any cardiac imaging team.
What you'll be doing
The position is responsible for providing a comprehensive specialist cardiac ultrasound service, ensuring the delivery of accurate diagnostic services and high-quality patient care. Working collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to provide specialist cardiac ultrasound services to facilities within the Mid North Coast Local Health District.
The position is required to work across both Port Macquarie Base Hospital and Kempsey Health Campus with regular participation in a planned rotation arrangement between the two facilities.
