Job Description
Join the Health Information Services team at Warringal Private Hospital as a Casual Health Information Officer.
In this role, you will provide accurate and efficient administrative support in the management of patient medical records and health information. You will be responsible for locating, retrieving, processing, tracking and maintaining medical records as well as responding to requests for information while ensuring information is handled with a high level of accuracy, confidentiality and privacy.
Working closely with clinical and administrative teams, you will contribute to the efficient management of health information and support quality improvement activities within the department.
Your Key Responsibilities

Compiling and filing medical records for discharged patients as required

Retrieving and preparing records for admissions, current inpatients, and clinical needs

Perform efficient preparation, scanning and filing of appropriate medical documentation

Accurately track and file medical records and correspondence in a timely manner.

Assist with the culling, archiving and secure storage of medical records in a timely and methodical manner.

Respond to requests for information from external parties in accordance with relevant privacy principles, policies and procedures.

Maintaining strict confidentiality and data security across all health records

Perform follow-up of documentation deficiencies.

Monitoring and maintaining clinical forms, registers, and records

Assisting with documentation audits and quality improvement activities
About You
You are an organized and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You understand that accurate, well-managed health records form the backbone of safe, high-quality patient care.

Previous experience in medical records, health information management, or healthcare clerical roles

A Certificate in Medical Terminology (highly desirable)

Commitment to data integrity, strict confidentiality, and privacy standards

Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively engage with internal and external stakeholders.

High-level computer literacy with confidence navigating complex digital health record systems
