Primary objective
Provide high level operational support to Division of Medicine including day to day management of operational team, contract
management and continuous business improvement projects.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage the operational team within Division of Medicine team including problem solving complex medical rosters issues,
managing recruitment drives, reporting and other operational duties.
2. Lead the development and implementation of projects to improve the business and operational performance of Division of
Medicine.
3. Undertake contract management of small contracts within the Division including monitoring performance and assist with new
procurement requirements.
4. Follow defined service quality standards, work health and safety policies and procedures relating to the work being undertaken
in order to ensure high quality, safe services and workplaces.
5. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in operational team management and the ability to problem solve complex matters.
2. High level leadership and organisational skills together with a sound ability to effectively manage resources to achieve business
objectives and to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
3. High level skills in business process improvement to deliver quality service outcomes that meet the needs of a changing
organisational environment.
4. Good strategic, conceptual, analytical, written and creative skills along with high attention to detail with an ability to understand
the political, social, economic and organisational environments and integrate this knowledge into advice.
5. High level of interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, including demonstrated high level of negotiation
and problem solving skills. The ability to prioritise multiple competing prioritises.
6. A thorough understanding of Financial Systems, including Legislative and Statutory policies and procedures relating to budget
management, procurement and contract management.
7. Knowledge of performance reporting and the ability to produce meaningful reporting for targeted audience.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualification in Business and Accounting or similar.
2. Experience in Health Sector and good understanding of the service delivery environment.
3. Experience in Performance reporting.
