Your Role:
The Enterprise Data & Reporting (EDR) team is looking for a skilled Product Owner for a 6 month fixed term contract who can bring structure, rigour, and discipline to how the team plans, prioritises, and executes its work.
This is a hands-on contract role responsible for establishing and embedding Agile delivery practices within the EDR team, managing and maintaining the product backlog across data engineering and BI workstreams, and ensuring that stakeholder requirements are translated into clear, well-structured, and actionable technical briefs. You will work closely with the Head of EDR and Data & BI Engineering leads to keep the team aligned, focused, and delivering against the roadmap at pace.
We are looking for someone who understands data and reporting products deeply enough to write a meaningful user story, challenge a scope estimate, and make an informed prioritisation call, while also being the person who ensures the team's Agile ceremonies are well-run and genuinely useful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work with the key stakeholders to define the product scope for each phase of the EDR roadmap, ensuring alignment between the Business Plan, the technical architecture, and what the team is actually building
- Maintain a clear scope boundary for each active workstream, and manage scope creep proactively
- Contribute to the definition and refinement of the tiered reporting product suite and support UAT processes for new reporting and data products.
- Establish and embed Agile/Scrum delivery practices across the EDR team, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Run effective sprint planning sessions and facilitate retrospectives that generate genuine improvement actions, and track those actions through to completion
- Own, maintain, and continuously refine the EDR product backlog across all active workstreams
- Maintain a clear and transparent view of the roadmap across all active workstreams, updated regularly and shared with stakeholders in an accessible format
- Lead requirements-gathering sessions with internal stakeholders and translate stakeholder requirements into well-structured user stories, acceptance criteria, and technical briefs.
- Write and maintain high-quality product documentation including feature specifications, data requirements documents, process flows, and decision logs
- Act as the primary point of contact for stakeholders raising requirements, queries, or feedback on deliverables.
- Maintain a clear and up-to-date view of the delivery roadmap for communication to internal stakeholders and facilitate regular stakeholder touchpoints
Who are you?
- Experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or equivalent delivery-focused role in a technology or data environment
- Demonstrated experience applying Agile/Scrum methodologies in a real delivery environment
- Strong written communication and documentation skills
- Proven ability to translate complex business or stakeholder requirements into clear, actionable technical briefs
- Experience working on data-focused products - this could include data engineering platforms, reporting and BI products, data pipeline delivery, or analytics tooling
- Solid understanding of data concepts including data pipelines, data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and BI reporting
- Strong backlog management and prioritisation skills, including experience managing dependencies across multiple concurrent workstreams
- Proficiency with Agile project management tooling (e.g., Jira)
- Experience with documentation and knowledge management tools (e.g., Confluence)
- Experience working in a media, marketing technology, or agency environment is advantageous
Benefits
- An award-winning company culture that encourages innovation, creativity and growth
- Flexible working arrangements
- Work within a diverse team, making positive & meaningful contributions
- End of year events, loyalty leave and much, much more!
- Continuous development through our mixed learning approach
- Giving back opportunities
- Pet-friendly office
