Support Near Me Pty Ltd is seeking experienced, reliable and compassionate Disability Support Workers for a Supported Independent Living home located in Austral, NSW. The role involves supporting participants with complex support needs and behaviours of concern.
Key responsibilities
- Provide respectful, person-centred personal care and daily-living assistance
- Follow participants’ Behaviour Support Plans and approved support strategies
- Identify early signs of distress and use appropriate de-escalation techniques
- Support community participation, appointments and household activities
- Assist with meal preparation and medication, where trained and authorised
- Complete accurate progress notes, incident reports and other documentation
- Maintain participant dignity, privacy, safety and professional boundaries
- Follow NDIS requirements and organisational policies and procedures
Essential requirements
- Previous experience supporting participants with behaviours of concern
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or Community Services
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates
- Completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module
- Valid Australian driver licence and access to a reliable, insured vehicle
- Australian working rights
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Flexibility to work shifts lasting between 3 and 8 hours
Experience in SIL, positive behaviour support, mental health, autism, intellectual disability or medication assistance will be highly regarded.
