Airport Retail Group Australia is seeking an experienced Chef to join the team at Windmill & Co, located at Brisbane Airport. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced hospitality environment, preparing high-quality food for domestic and international travellers.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present high-quality meals in accordance with established recipes and standards.
- Assist with menu planning and the development of seasonal menu items.
- Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation to ensure consistency.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering and stock rotation, and minimise food wastage.
- Supervise and support kitchen staff during service.
- Work collaboratively with the management team to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, Diploma of Hospitality Management, or an equivalent qualification.
- At least one year relevant experience as a Chef, or three years' relevant experience where no formal qualification is held.
- Experience working in a high-volume commercial kitchen.
- Sound knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
