About the Opportunity
Join our dedicated Renal Service as a Registered Nurse and become part of a vibrant, collaborative team committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centred care. Our service consists of 20–24 passionate Registered and Enrolled Nurses who work together across two key locations:
- Nita Reed Renal Unit – a 10-chair community and outpatient dialysis unit caring for stable haemodialysis patients.
- Forster Satellite Renal Unit – a six-chair satellite service located within a private hospital, providing independent care for highly stable dialysis patients.
Our multicultural team is known for its genuine commitment to patient advocacy, supportive culture and strong sense of camaraderie. We celebrate milestones together, enjoy regular team events such as afternoon teas, and foster an environment where everyone feels welcomed, respected and valued.
From your very first day, you'll be supported through a comprehensive orientation program, ongoing mentorship from a Senior Registered Nurse, and guidance from our experienced Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse Manager, Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Nurse Consultant and Clinical Nurse Specialists. You'll also have access to ongoing education and professional development opportunities to help you build your skills and progress your nursing career.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Renal Registered Nurse, you'll play a vital role in delivering safe, evidence-based haemodialysis care to patients living with chronic kidney disease.
Working Monday to Saturday across morning and afternoon shifts—with no night shifts or on-call requirements—you will:
- Prepare and set up dialysis machines and equipment.
- Deliver high-quality haemodialysis care using a primary nursing model.
- Manage a patient allocation of approximately 1:3 or 1:4.
- Perform patient assessments, monitor vital signs and document clinical observations.
- Cannulate and monitor patients throughout their dialysis treatment.
- Participate in daily safety huddles and multidisciplinary communication.
- Educate and support patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
- Work collaboratively with nephrologists and the multidisciplinary team to achieve the best possible patient outcomes.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and maintain high clinical standards.
This is a rewarding opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients while developing specialist skills within a supportive renal team.
