About the position
St Michael's Kindergarten is located in the heart of beautiful Palm Island, providing an Approved Kindergarten Program to the local community.
We have a rare opportunity for a passionate and creative Kindergarten Teacher to join our team as the Teacher Director on a permanent part-time, working 22.8 hours per week (Tuesday to Thursday) school term time up to 40 weeks per year. The annual salary is inclusive of 4 weeks annual leave and up to 7 weeks recess leave. Travel and accommodation will be considered, along with competitive remuneration.
We are flexible on the commencement date and welcome applications from candidates who can start later this year or at the beginning of the 2027 school year.
In this rewarding role, you will deliver a high-quality, play-based Kindergarten program aligned with the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG). You'll create engaging learning experiences that nurture children's curiosity, confidence and development while building strong partnerships with families and the local community.
What We’re Looking For:
- Tertiary qualifications in Teaching/Early Childhood Education or near completion
- A current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
- Demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds
- Current First Aid Certificate Including CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis
- Understanding and knowledge of National Quality Framework and Early Years Learning Framework
