Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking an experienced OHS Business Partner to join our People and Development team. This newly focused role provides specialist health and safety expertise across the organisation, leading initiatives that strengthen psychosocial safety, compliance, emergency preparedness and workplace safety culture.
Working closely with leaders, employees and Health and Safety Representatives, you will help drive key projects relating to psychosocial hazard management, workplace inspections and audits, emergency management, risk assessments and continuous improvement of Council's safety management systems.
In this diverse and rewarding position, you will:
- Lead and support psychosocial hazard management initiatives and workplace wellbeing programs.
- Conduct workplace inspections and compliance audits across Council's varied operations.
- Coordinate emergency management planning, reviews and preparedness activities.
- Provide expert advice to leaders on legislative compliance and risk management.
- Analyse safety data, identify trends and implement improvement strategies.
- Foster a proactive safety culture that supports the wellbeing of all employees.
To be successful, you will bring:
- Qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety or a related discipline and/or significant relevant experience.
- Experience implementing psychosocial hazard frameworks and workplace wellbeing initiatives.
- Demonstrated capability conducting audits, inspections and risk assessments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, coaching and influencing skills.
- A passion for continuous improvement and creating positive safety outcomes.
