About Acusensus
Acusensus pioneers intelligent road safety enforcement solutions deployed by governments across Australia, the US, the UK, and New Zealand. Our mission is straightforward: changing behaviours, saving lives. We do it through advanced AI and hardware technology, including fixed-location, trailer-based, and vehicle-based enforcement solutions that capture risky driver behaviour. Founded in 2018, we've grown into a global team that is passionate about our mission to make communities safer.
About the role
You'll be a core contributor to the Product Development Team, taking designs from concept through to prototype and testing and into production. The main focus is CAD design, but you'll also develop hands-on skills across testing, validation, manufacturing drawings, and engineering calculations as you go. This is a role for someone who wants to understand how products are actually made, not just drawn up.
What you'll do:
-
Design and review technical drawings using 3D CAD software, Fusion 360.
-
Ensure designs meet required standards, including IP rating, EMC/EMI, environmental, and road safety regulations across each jurisdiction.
-
Generate manufacturing drawings and support the transition of designs into production.
-
Learn to develop testing processes and perform validation of new designs.
-
Collaborate with engineering teams across mechanical, electrical, and software disciplines.
-
Maintain thorough documentation across all stages of the design and development process.
-
Uphold ISO, QC, QA, and safety standards in everything you deliver.
About you
You're an early-career engineer with a solid grounding in mechanical, mechatronic, or electrical engineering, someone who is curious, detail-oriented, and genuinely interested in how physical products come together.
You'll bring:
-
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a closely related field
-
Provide a copy of your academic transcript as part of the application.
-
Hands-on experience with CAD software such as Fusion 36, SolidWorks or AutoCAD
-
A curious and proactive approach to learning and developing
-
Strong technical problem-solving ability and sound reasoning
-
Clear communication skills, written and verbal, to work effectively across teams
-
The ability to manage your time well and deliver within project timelines
Nice-to-haves
- Exposure to a manufacturing or production environment
- Familiarity with ISO standards (9001, 45001, or 27001)
Why join Acusensus?
-
Your work has a direct impact on road safety: The hardware you help design gets deployed across the globe. This isn't abstract engineering; you'll see it in the real world.
-
A genuine learning environment: You'll be guided by experienced product development engineers across CAD, testing, validation, and manufacturing, with structured exposure to multi-disciplinary teams from day one. This is a role built for someone who wants to grow.
-
Work across the full product lifecycle: From initial CAD design through to prototype testing, manufacturing drawings, and production handover, you'll touch every stage of the process. That's rare breadth for an early-career role
