About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead AI Engineer to lead the design and implementation of AI agents and Agentic AI solutions supporting complex underwriting workflows within the life insurance domain.
The successful candidate will be responsible for building intelligent AI-driven capabilities for evidence retrieval, case validation, and decision support, while establishing robust agent governance practices and reusable frameworks that can be adopted across the enterprise.
This is a hands-on technical leadership role requiring strong experience in Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI agents, LLMs, orchestration, and enterprise AI engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement AI agents and Agentic AI solutions for enterprise underwriting workflows.
- Build AI-driven capabilities for evidence retrieval, case validation, and decision support.
- Lead the development and implementation of agent orchestration patterns and multi-agent workflows.
- Design and develop reusable AI agent frameworks, components, and engineering patterns.
- Establish and implement AI agent governance, monitoring, evaluation, and lifecycle management practices.
- Work with architects, data scientists, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate underwriting requirements into scalable AI solutions.
- Integrate AI agents with enterprise systems, APIs, data platforms, and business/rules engines.
- Develop robust solutions using LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, tool calling, and AI orchestration techniques.
- Ensure AI solutions are secure, reliable, scalable, observable, and suitable for production deployment.
- Implement appropriate guardrails to ensure AI agents operate safely, consistently, and within defined business boundaries.
- Lead technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering best practices for AI solutions.
- Identify opportunities to create reusable AI capabilities and accelerate enterprise adoption of Agentic AI.
- Collaborate with solution architects and engineering teams to ensure alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and governance standards.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Lead AI Engineer, Senior AI Engineer, Generative AI Engineer, or similar role.
- Strong hands-on experience building Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions.
- Experience designing and implementing AI agents and multi-agent systems.
- Strong knowledge of LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, embeddings, vector databases, tool/function calling, and AI orchestration.
- Experience with AI agent frameworks and orchestration technologies such as LangChain, LangGraph, AutoGen, Semantic Kernel, CrewAI, or similar.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience developing production-grade AI applications.
- Experience integrating AI solutions with APIs, enterprise applications, databases, data platforms, and business/rules engines.
- Experience implementing AI agent governance, evaluation, monitoring, observability, and guardrails.
- Experience working with cloud AI services and platforms such as Azure AI, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Strong understanding of software engineering practices, CI/CD, version control, testing, and production deployment.
- Experience in insurance, life insurance, financial services, underwriting, or decisioning systems is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and technical leadership skills.
Pay: $900.00 – $930.00 per day
