What to Expect
Tesla develops high-performance electric vehicles, battery energy storage systems and charging infrastructure. The APAC Energy & Charging Service team operates and maintains this infrastructure and is a committed and fast moving. As a Training Program Developer on this team, you'll play a key role in empowering our Service Technicians and Certified Service Providers to maintain, install, and troubleshoot these products, ensuring reliable performance for our customers worldwide.
The Technical Program Developer develops comprehensive training programs, training materials, and supports our Technical Trainer in the delivery of hands-on training sessions at Tesla's dedicated training facilities and online training programs. This role focuses on equipping Service Technicians and CSPs with the knowledge and skills needed to maintain Tesla Energy product. The ideal candidate has experience developing training programs, experience with battery products, and a passion for adult education in a technical environment.
What You'll Do
Training Program Development

Collaborate with subject matter experts (e.g. APAC Technical Trainers, EHS and Global Program Managers) to develop training programs for the APAC Energy & Charging Service team.

Collaborate with subject matter experts (e.g. APAC Technical Trainers, EHS and Global Program Managers) to develop training programs for Tesla’s APAC Certified Service Providers (CSPs).

Maintain content with the Learning Management System (LMS) ensuring accuracy and update-to-date course availability

Track and report on training program impact, learner completion and measure success.

Apply instruction design principles to create structure and learned-centred training programs.
Training Material Development:

Design and create engaging, up-to-date training content, e-learning modules, videos, simulations, and interactive resources tailored to Megapack, Powerpack, and Supercharger technologies.

Collaborate with Technical Trainers, Engineering, Product, and Service teams to ensure materials reflect the latest product updates, safety protocols, and best practices.

Incorporate real-world scenarios, troubleshooting guides, and compliance with high-voltage safety standards.
Hands-On Training Delivery:

Support the APAC Technical Trainers by occasionally leading in-person training sessions at Tesla's Melbourne Training Facility, providing practical, hands-on instruction on installation, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of energy products.

Demonstrate safe handling of high-voltage systems, battery management, power electronics, and charging infrastructure.

Facilitate workshops, simulations, and certification assessments to build technician proficiency.
Online Training Delivery:

Conduct virtual training sessions for Service Technicians, customers and CSPs.

Develop and moderate interactive online courses, webinars, and Q&A sessions to support remote learning and ongoing skill development.

Track participant progress, provide feedback, and certify completions.
Program Improvement and Evaluation:

Assess training effectiveness and training program progress.

Update curricula based on evolving product features, regulatory changes, and field feedback.

Support the integration of new training technologies, such as VR simulations for high-risk procedures.

Stay abreast of developments in electrical regulatory and safety requirements in all APAC territories/regions (including but not limited to New Zealand, Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and South Korea)
Collaboration and Support:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to align training with business goals.

Support Field/Area Leads/Manager in assessing Tesla Service Technician skills and competencies.

Support CSP lead in assessing CSP technician skills and competencies.

Work closely with EHS to ensure training meeting all safety, health and environmental requirement

Travel occasionally to sites and Melbourne for up to twice per quarter.
What You'll Bring-
Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and building a technical training program.

Minimum 2 years’ experience as trainer

Experience maintaining or updating course material within a Learning Management System (LMS)

Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

Hands-on experience with energy storage systems

Excellence communication skills

Curiosity and a passion for sharing knowledge

Preferred Qualifications

Experience servicing Tesla industrial or commercial products.
