Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Chef to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and preparing healthy meals and snacks that cater to the dietary needs of our children while ensuring a positive and welcoming mealtime experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare balanced, nutritious meals and snacks for children in accordance with dietary guidelines and food safety standards.
- Cater to specific dietary needs and restrictions (e.g. allergies, cultural preferences).
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with staff to create a positive mealtime atmosphere, encouraging healthy eating habits.
- Manage inventory, including ordering and purchasing food supplies as needed.
- Keep accurate records in line with Food Safety Standards.
- Engage with children during mealtimes to promote social interaction and healthy eating practices.
- Interacting with families during drop off and pick up times
Qualifications:
- Previous 1 years experience in a childcare setting as a cook is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children.
- Food Handling and Food Safety Supervisor Certification.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Passion for cooking and nurturing healthy habits in children.
- National Child Safety Geccko certificates
