Abel Tasman Village is a non-for-profit, 72-bed residential Aged Care facility, that was established in 1994 and since then has built a reputation of delivering outstanding care to our ageing population. Abel Tasman Village is currently seeking passionate and motivated Registered Nurses to join our friendly and supportive team.
About the Role
Join our compassionate team as a Registered Nurse at Abel Tasman. In this role, you will provide expert clinical care and support to residents, ensuring their health and well-being are prioritised. You will collaborate with the care team to develop and implement care plans, monitor health conditions, and respond to medical needs. Your role will be key in fostering a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where residents feel comfortable, valued, and at home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure care is provided in a consumer-directed framework that promotes positive health outcomes.
- To inspire others in the clinical team while coordinating the provision of daily care needs to our residents.
- To provide provision of clinical care under legislation and practice within a professional and ethical framework.
- Administering medications in accordance with prescribed treatments and established protocols, as required.
- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with the individual/s and the multidisciplinary health care team using a contemporary practice model.
- Ensuring timely and accurate clinical documentation
- Provide daily support and assistance to residents, ensuring their comfort, well-being, and dignity.
- Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages residents to feel safe, valued, and respected.
- Work closely with other care staff to implement and follow care plans, ensuring all physical, emotional, and cultural needs are met.
- Assisting the Clinical Care Manager in conducting annual competency for Clinical Care staff.
- Conduct Ongoing mentoring of Clinical staff.
Skills and experience
- Current registration with AHPRA and Full Australian work rights
- Current police check and Flu/COVID-19 vaccination
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in an Aged Care environment.
- Basic knowledge of AN-ACC and New Aged Care Standards
- Ability to effectively lead the team in a busy work environment
- Excellent verbal and written skills to confidently interact with residents, families and staff.
- Experience with medication administration
- A commitment to contributing to a quality, active living experience for residents.
- An energetic and innovative approach in planning and delivering activities that support the wellness, spiritual, social, cultural and recreational needs of residents
- Ability to use Electronic Care Management System, email, Office and other basic computer skills
