About the role
Provide high-quality medical care as a Principal House Officer (PHO) within the Internal Medicine team at The Prince Charles Hospital. This role is responsible for the assessment, management, and ongoing care of patients across a broad range of general medical presentations, while supporting the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centred services within a tertiary healthcare environment.
You will work closely with consultants, registrars, junior medical staff, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, develop clinical expertise, and contribute to education, research, and quality improvement activities. The role provides valuable opportunities to expand clinical knowledge and skills in internal medicine while participating in teaching, supervision, and professional development initiatives.
About you

Provide comprehensive assessment, management, and ongoing care of patients within Internal Medicine services
Coordinate investigations, treatment plans, referrals, and multidisciplinary care to support optimal patient outcomes
Supervise, teach, and support junior medical staff and medical students
Participate in quality improvement, patient safety, audit, and research activities
Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams while contributing to after-hours and rotational service requirements
