The opportunity
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Asset Officer to take on a crucial role within our Infrastructure Unit. Reporting directly to the Asset Management Coordinator, your role will be centred on supporting the entire lifecycle of our critical civil infrastructure.
In this role you will be:
Conducting inspections, determining asset condition ratings, and managing asset data entry.
Assist with preparation of capital and maintenance works programs through compiling cost estimates and documentation to meet service levels and Asset Management Plans.
Supervising contracts and delivering excellent customer service.
What you will bring:
A solid, demonstrable understanding of current design, construction, and maintenance standards for roads, bridges, and drainage systems.
Proven experience in conducting thorough field inspections and managing accurate data collection to inform strategic asset decisions.

Essential key criteria to be addressed in applications.
At least over 5 years of experience in Asset Management, specifically undertaking condition rating and preparation of construction and maintenance programs.
Current and valid class C Drivers Licence.
Knowledge of infrastructure assets such as roads, bridges, footpath, & drainage assets, specifically in inspecting, maintaining and repair of, particularly roads.
Demonstrated history of showing initiative in solving problems, improving methods and productivity and ability to seek guidance where required.
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills to support consultation with the public and external agencies.

The appointment will be in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and conditions of employment. The salary is commencing at $1,574.60 per week with progression up to $1,738.20 per week dependent upon skills and experience.
