About the Role
Our reputation has seen the business experience considerable growth, and we are looking for a highly experienced Civil Engineer to join our team. As a Civil Engineer, you will work within a cohesive operational team that ensures the company objectives for profit, program, quality, safety, and environmental performance for each project are achieved. Your expertise will ensure that all work adheres to the necessary specifications and standards, playing a crucial role in the overall success of our projects.
- This role is based across all MGC projects through Perth Metro
- Full Time, Permanent
- $120,000pa + Super
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Determine construction methods, materials, and quality standards, and draft and interpret specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods, and procedures.
- Oversee and manage high-level projects and initiatives to ensure they meet cost, quality, and time constraints.
- Organise and direct site labour, coordinate the delivery of construction materials, plant, and equipment, and establish detailed programs for coordinating site activities.
- Possess a thorough understanding of all site documentation, including management plans, contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, and standards set by local or public authorities.
- Obtain soil and rock samples at various depths across sites and test them to determine strength, compressibility, and other factors affecting soil and rock behaviour under structural loads, and determine safe loading capacities.
- Attend site meetings with consulting engineers, subcontractors, and local authorities.
- Study architectural and engineering drawings and specifications to estimate total costs, and prepare detailed cost plans and estimates to assist in budgetary control.
- Collaborate with site supervisors to carry out quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC).
- Monitor design changes, assess their impact on costs, and measure, value, and negotiate design variations.
- Analyse structural systems for both static and dynamic loads.
- Design structures to ensure they remain stable and do not collapse, bend, twist, or vibrate in undesirable ways.
- Provide alternative methods and solutions to overcome site challenges, ensuring projects are completed in a timely manner.
- Assess current and future travel flow patterns, considering population growth and changing needs.
- Design the physical aspects of transportation systems, including highways, railroads, urban transit, air transportation, logistical supply systems, and their terminals.

Qualifications
Mandatory
- Degree or higher in Civil Engineering
- Current WA Drivers Licence
- WA Police Clearance – no more than 1 year old
- White Card
- Proven industry experience, minimum 3 years
Desirable
- Senior First Aid training
- Other relevant certificates and or competencies are also desirable
