As we continue our strong growth trajectory, we are investing further in our People & Capability function with a newly created ER/IR Lead role now available. This newly created role has been established following an internal promotion and the continued expansion of the broader P&C team.
Reporting to the Head of P&C for Australia & New Zealand, you will lead the Employee Relations team while serving as Icon's senior ER and IR specialist. This is a unique opportunity to influence workplace relations strategy, partner with senior leaders, and help shape a positive, high-performing workplace culture during a period of significant organisational growth.
About the Role
Operating in a true player-coach capacity, you will combine leadership of a specialist ER team with hands-on involvement in complex workplace relations matters, providing trusted advice to leaders across the organisation while driving best-practice employee and industrial relations outcomes.
In addition, you will:
- Support enterprise bargaining strategy, negotiations and implementation
- Partner with senior leaders to navigate workplace relations challenges and organisational change
- Represent the organisation in Fair Work Commission matters and other workplace relations forums where required
- Lead governance, compliance and risk management initiatives across the ER/IR portfolio
- Lead and mentor a high-performing Employee Relations team
About You
We are looking for an ER/IR professional who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution. Someone comfortable operating in complex environments, influencing senior stakeholders and providing commercially focused advice that delivers practical outcomes.

To be successful, you will bring:
- Deep knowledge of Australian employment law and industrial relations frameworks
- Demonstrated experience managing complex employee relations casework, workplace investigations and industrial disputes
- Experience supporting enterprise bargaining activities and industrial relations strategy
- Exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills
- The ability to balance organisational, commercial and people considerations when managing risk
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business, Law, Psychology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
