About the Role
We’re seeking a metal polisher / Surface finisher to join our production team in Matraville. You’ll be responsible for preparing substrates (e.g. MDF, aluminium, steel) and finishing coated surfaces to a premium standard. This is a skilled, workshop-based role suited to someone confident with tools and who takes pride in fine detail.
Ideal background
You may have experience in one or more of the following:
- Metal Polishing
- Carpentry or cabinetmaking
- Automotive refinishing, detailing, or panel beating
- Shopfitting or signage installation
- Furniture restoration or French polishing
- Marine or general trades with fine finishing work
Key responsibilities
- Sand, fill and prepare substrates for coating
- Polish and refine coated surfaces to the required texture and sheen
- Follow detailed job sheets and work to tight deadlines
- Maintain a clean, organised workspace and support general workshop tasks
- Work collaboratively with a small, skilled team
What we’re looking for
- Solid hand tool skills and workshop experience
- A keen eye for surface quality and imperfections
- Reliable, methodical, and able to meet deadlines
- Physically fit and comfortable with lifting/handling panels
- Positive attitude and strong team spirit
- WHS awareness and safety-conscious work ethic
