THE ROLE
We are now recruiting a
Senior Project Manager to lead and manage a portfolio of civil construction projects in Western Australia. The role is accountable for identifying new business leads, engaging with clients, and providing practical input into tenders and pricing reviews to win projects.
Once target projects are awarded, the Senior Project Manager will be responsible for delivery from commencement through to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery of projects by building high performing safe and sustainable teams to achieve project objectives
- Oversee and determine construction methods, materials and quality standards, and drafting and interpreting specifications, drawings, plans, construction methods and procedures
- Prepare and submit notifications to the Client / Principal Contractor as required
- Organise, plan and manage direct site labour and ensure effective workforce planning
- Monitor changes to designs, assessing effects on costs, and measuring, valuing and negotiating variations to designs in consultation with the Commercial team
- Ensure strict compliance with contract notices and management of subcontractors in strict compliance with agreements
- Build and maintain key interface relationships with Clients, site teams and Whittens leadership team
- Identify and upskill emerging leaders and facilitate development plans
ABOUT YOU:
- Tertiary Qualifications in Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Management or similar - Preferred
- At least 10 years+ Project Management experience with civil projects including Earthworks, Concrete, FRP ranging from $10-$60M
- Experience working for a Civil Contractor and managing a self-perform direct workforce as well as managing subcontractors
- Superior time and priority management skills
- Confidence in managing a range of different relationships throughout the business and on site
- Strong Commercial Acumen
- Visible leadership
- Adaptability to travel to site on a roster as required
