About
Flow Support is inviting expressions of interest from a compassionate, ethical, and adaptable Contractor Counsellor to join our expanding multidisciplinary team. This unique role offers the opportunity to work across both:
NDIS-funded counselling with a focus on capacity building under the Improved Daily Living domain
Private counselling, supporting individuals seeking therapeutic support for personal growth, wellbeing, or recovery
In the NDIS stream, this is not a traditional or open-ended therapy role. Counselling is delivered within the NDIS scope of practice, focused on helping participants build practical skills such as emotional regulation, communication, self-awareness, coping strategies, and functional independence — all aligned with their NDIS goals.
You do not need prior NDIS experience — we provide training, tools, and ongoing support to help you navigate the NDIS framework with confidence and clarity.
Responsibilities
Provide capacity-building counselling to NDIS participants, focused on functional and emotional development
Deliver private counselling sessions tailored to each client’s goals and presenting needs
Collaborate professionally with participants, support coordinators, and, where appropriate, families and stakeholders
Maintain clear and accurate documentation aligned with NDIS and clinical standards
Uphold ethical, trauma-informed, and person-centred practices
Engage in optional supervision and peer connection opportunities
Offer face-to-face support locally and remote support nationally
Requirements
We’re seeking a counsellor who is aligned with Flow Support’s values and committed to delivering ethical, outcome-focused support. You’ll thrive here if you enjoy working autonomously while still being part of a connected, supportive team.
You’ll need:
A Diploma in Counselling (Bachelor’s preferred)
Registration with ACA, PACFA, or other recognised Australian counselling body
Experience or strong interest in working with individuals with psychosocial disability or complex mental health
A recovery-focused approach with strong professional boundaries
Confidence delivering both NDIS-aligned capacity-building counselling and traditional therapy to private clients
ABN and professional indemnity/public liability insurance
Basic tech literacy (email, secure documentation, telehealth platforms)
A valid driver’s licence and insured, reliable vehicle for local face-to-face sessions
Note: While prior NDIS experience is beneficial, it is not essential. We support you with onboarding and tools to work within the NDIS framework confidently.
What We Offer
$70–$90 per hour contractor rate, depending on experience and caseload
A steady flow of NDIS and private client referrals
Admin and intake support — so you can focus on delivering sessions, not backend admin

Training and onboarding to support alignment with NDIS documentation and scope
Optional supervision and opportunities to connect with likeminded professionals
