As a Commercial Veterinary Advisor, you will be a trusted clinical voice across key veterinary portfolios including pharmaceuticals, nutrition, diagnostics, equipment, consumables, and emerging technologies. Working closely with veterinary leaders, strategic suppliers, and cross-functional teams across Clinical Governance, Operations, Finance, and Marketing, you will help drive better clinical outcomes, operational efficiencies, and commercial value.
What you’ll be doing
Lead and optimise our Group Buy List
Support the ongoing development and optimisation of the Group Buy List, ensuring alignment with clinical standards, operational needs, and commercial priorities
Provide clinical guidance on product selection, support clinic queries, and identify opportunities to improve value, consistency, and performance across the network
Clinical lead for product optimisation initiatives
As a veterinary product subject matter expert, provide product advice across a range of clinical portfolios (incl. pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, nutrition, equipment, consumables, and new technologies) to support clinical and business improvement initiatives
Assess emerging products and innovations, translating clinical evidence and frontline insights into practical recommendations
present both technical veterinary information and strategic procurement insights to clinical and non-clinical audiences, including key stakeholders, enabling informed decision-making across the business
Partner with clinics to understand challenges, opportunities, and future needs
Build strategic supply partnerships
Develop strong relationships with key supply partners to drive innovation, quality, service, and value
Support supplier performance reviews, contract management, product evaluations, and initiatives that strengthen supply continuity and clinical effectiveness
Drive innovation and commercial initiatives
Lead the New Product Assessment process, ensuring products meet clinical, quality, safety, operational, and commercial requirements
Provide clinical input into sourcing strategies, product standardisation, and continuous improvement initiatives
Stay connected to industry trends and emerging opportunities that enhance veterinary care
About you
You are a veterinarian who enjoys thinking strategically and influencing outcomes beyond individual patient care. You bring strong clinical judgement, commercial curiosity, and the ability to build trusted relationships across a diverse stakeholder group.
You will bring:
Veterinary qualifications and current registration, with 5+ years’ clinical experience in companion animal, mixed practice, or a related veterinary environment
Experience assessing veterinary products, pharmaceuticals, diagnostics, equipment, consumables, or clinical services
Commercial awareness and an understanding of procurement, supplier partnerships, and value-based decision-making
Strong communication, influencing, and analytical skills, with the ability to turn clinical insights into clear business recommendations
Experience working within a multi-site veterinary, healthcare, pharmaceutical, or complex supply environment will be highly regarded
