FoodWorks Hoppers Crossing is looking for an experienced, hands-on Store Manager to lead our supermarket team and help take the store to the next level.
This is an autonomous leadership role for someone who understands supermarket retail, takes pride in high standards, and enjoys building a strong local business. You will lead day-to-day operations, develop a capable team, and ensure customers receive the fresh, well-presented and friendly shopping experience they expect.
Key responsibilities
- Lead daily store operations, including opening, closing and team coordination.
- Coach, motivate and develop staff to deliver excellent customer service and strong results.
- Maintain high standards across presentation, merchandising, cleanliness, fresh food and stock availability.
- Manage ordering, stock control, inventory, wastage and supplier relationships.
- Monitor sales, margins and expenses to achieve business targets.
- Prepare rosters and manage team performance.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, workplace health and safety, and FoodWorks requirements.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and build lasting relationships with the local community.
- Drive promotions, local marketing and practical improvements that grow sales and customer loyalty.
About you
- Minimum one year’s proven experience as a supermarket Store Manager, Assistant Manager or in a similar leadership role.
- Experience in FoodWorks, IGA, Woolworths, Coles, Aldi or a similar supermarket environment is highly regarded.
- Strong experience in ordering, stock control and merchandising.
- Sound knowledge of fresh food operations, food safety and compliance requirements.
- Confidence managing rosters and team performance.
- A practical, organised leader who leads from the front.
- Commercial awareness and a demonstrated ability to improve sales, standards and profitability.
- Excellent communication, customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable using POS, retail management and Microsoft Office systems.
- Availability to work a flexible retail roster, including weekends and public holidays as required.
