The Role
As a Pastry Chef de Partie at Cafe Sydney, you will leverage your culinary expertise to manage in a designated section of our kitchen, which operates 7 days a week under the leadership of Executive Chef Sarahjane Brown and Head Chef Kyle Richards.
This role requires:
- Menu Planning: Support crafting sophisticated menus, accurately estimating food and labour costs, and proficiently ordering food supplies.
- Quality Control: Monitoring dish quality throughout all stages of preparation and presentation to maintain impeccable standards.
- Collaborative Engagement: Engaging in discussions about food preparation issues with managers, kitchen staff, and waiting staff .
- Culinary Skills: Demonstrating refined cooking techniques and offering guidance on cooking procedures to junior staff.
- High-Level Preparation: Executing food preparation and cooking that aligns with Cafe Sydney's standards.
- Team Development: Training and mentoring team members, fostering growth within the kitchen brigade.
- Food Safety & Hygiene: Adhering to meticulous food storage, preservation, and thawing techniques. Enforcing rigorous hygiene regulations and food safety practices.

Pay: $76,000.00 – $78,000.00 per year
