We’re looking for an experienced Senior Java Solutions Engineer to join a highly skilled development team supporting a mission-critical enterprise platform used in operational environments where reliability, performance, and availability are essential. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex enterprise applications, cloud integrations, and backend services while collaborating with experienced software engineers and technical specialists. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Java Solutions Engineer, you will:
- Design, develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-grade Java applications.
- Develop scalable backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and enterprise Java technologies.
- Design and implement RESTful APIs, SOAP Web Services, and enterprise integration solutions.
- Develop and support cloud-based services using Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Design logical and physical data models and implement database solutions using Oracle Database.
- Develop data access layers using JPA, Hibernate ORM, and modern object-relational mapping frameworks.
- Produce technical design documentation, solution specifications, deployment documentation, and release artefacts.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Maven, and related DevOps tools.
- Participate in software releases, production deployments, and ongoing application support.
- Contribute to automated testing, code reviews, software quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with architects, developers, testers, and business stakeholders throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in an on-call support roster (after-hours callouts are very infrequent).
Key Skills & Experience
We’re looking for an experienced enterprise software engineer with strong backend Java development expertise.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience developing enterprise applications using Java.
- Strong knowledge of Spring Framework, Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate ORM, and enterprise design patterns.
- Experience designing and developing REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, OpenAPI, XML, JSON, WSDL, and XSD.
- Strong experience working with Oracle Database, including SQL, data modelling, and stored procedures.
- Hands-on experience developing cloud-based solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS), including services such as EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS, and CloudFormation.
- Experience working with Unix/Linux environments and Bash scripting.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, version control, build automation, and release management using Git, Jenkins, Maven, and related tools.
- Experience implementing automated testing and following modern software engineering best practices.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Highly Desirable
Experience with:
- Java EE / Jakarta EE
- Reactive programming
- ReactJS, HTML, and CSS
- Enterprise integration and messaging
- Oracle PL/SQL
- Mission-critical or high-availability enterprise applications
- AWS cloud architecture and integration
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience delivering enterprise software solutions within complex project environments.
