Dairy Process Worker (Cheese & Yoghurt Manufacturing)

Position Purpose
The Process Worker is responsible for carrying out day-to-day production activities in the cheese and yoghurt manufacturing facility. This includes preparation of raw materials, operation of equipment, monitoring of processes, packaging, and cleaning to ensure products are manufactured & packaged safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
Assist in the preparation of raw milk, cultures, and ingredients for yoghurt and cheese production.
Operate pasteurisers, separators, vats, filling machines, and other processing equipment in accordance with procedures.
Monitor processing parameters (temperature, time, pH, weights) and record data accurately.
Follow standard recipes and production schedules to meet daily targets.
Assist with cutting, pressing, moulding, and brining of cheese products.
Support yoghurt fermentation, blending, filling, and packaging processes.
Quality & Food Safety
Carry out visual and sensory checks during production to maintain quality standards.
Report any deviations, contamination risks, or equipment malfunctions immediately.
Follow HACCP, GMP, and allergen management procedures.
Ensure correct labelling, traceability, and batch recording.
Health, Safety & Hygiene
Comply with workplace health and safety requirements at all times.
Wear and maintain correct PPE (protective clothing, hairnets, gloves).
Perform regular cleaning and sanitation of equipment, tools, and work areas.
Handle chemicals safely in line with training and SDS guidelines.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to achieve daily goals.
Contribute ideas for improving efficiency, yield, and safety.
Provide support to new team members and assist in training when required.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Accuracy and consistency of production according to recipes and specifications.
Compliance with HACCP, GMP, and safety procedures.
Achievement of production output and efficiency targets.
Minimal product wastage and rework.
Positive contribution to teamwork and workplace culture.
Skills, Knowledge & Attributes
Previous food manufacturing or dairy experience desirable, but not essential (training provided).
Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to follow instructions, SOPs, and production schedules.
Attention to detail and accurate record keeping.
Physically fit to handle manual tasks (lifting, carrying, standing for long periods).
Reliable, punctual, and willing to work shifts/overtime as required.
Pay: $30.25 per hour
