Your impact
Reporting to the Sustaining Capital Projects Superintendent, in the permanent position of Supervisor, Projects, you will support Sustaining Capital project execution and ensure seamless project delivery for the Tanami mine operation in alignment with Newmont strategic objectives.
As part of our Sustaining Capital Projects team you will

Supervise the end-to-end delivery of sustain capital projects on site, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in line with approved scope, schedule, and budget

Develop and implement detailed project plans, coordinating labour, equipment, and materials to meet production and operational targets

Monitor project performance against key milestones, providing clear and timely reporting to site leadership on progress, risks, and outcomes

Oversee contractor and subcontractor activities, ensuring compliance with site safety standards, statutory requirements, and quality expectations

Drive a strong safety culture by enforcing HSE policies, conducting site inspections, and promoting proactive hazard identification and risk management

Identify and resolve project and operational issues quickly, minimising downtime and maintaining continuity of mining activities

Facilitate effective communication between operations, maintenance, engineering teams, and contractors to ensure alignment and seamless execution

Mentor and support team members and new starters in site procedures, project delivery standards, and safe work practices

Identify, assess, and manage risks across all project phases, implementing mitigation strategies in line with site and corporate risk frameworks.
Prerequisites for your success in the role

Tertiary qualification in Engineering complemented by Project Management credentials

Proven experience within the mining sector, including exposure to sustaining capital project delivery

Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary, site-based teams

Strong project management capability, including resource coordination, risk management, and stakeholder engagement

Advanced skills in project planning, tracking, monitoring, data management, and reporting

Solid understanding of mining industry health, safety, environmental, and sustainability standards and regulations

Full, unrestricted working rights in Australia.
Your work environment
Newmont has fully owned and operated the Tanami mine since 2002. The mine operates in the remote Tanami Desert of Australia. The mine and plant are located on Aboriginal freehold land that is owned by the Warlpiri people and managed on their behalf by the Central Desert Aboriginal Lands Trust. Tanami is a fly-in-fly-out operation in one of Australia’s most remote locations. Tanami is 270 km from its closest neighbours, the remote Aboriginal community of Yuendumu.
This permanent position will be based on-site at the Tanami mine located in the remote Northern Territory working on a fly in fly out roster of 8 days on/6 days off from Perth, Darwin, Brisbane or Alice Springs. Mine village accommodation will be provided.
Full and unrestricted eligibility for employment in Australia will be essential.
