About the role
We are actively seeking a Senior Associate with expertise in Native Title and cultural heritage law to join our well regarded Sydney Public Law team. We act for Indigenous native title claimants, local Aboriginal land councils, governments (local councils, and State, Territory and Commonwealth agencies), private sector developers, infrastructure owners and resource companies. The team is renowned for its exceptional mentorship and positive culture, supported by encouraging partners. Day to day you will have the following responsibilities:
- Attending directions hearings and hearings;
- Briefing Counsel and experts
- Undertaking Due Diligence
- Complex statutory interpretation and advice
- Presenting and drafting articles
- Supervising lawyers in the day to day

About you
Essential skills include:
- Approximately 5+ years post qualification experience, ideally with experience in native title work.
- Excellent technical and drafting skills
- An enquiring mind as well as a possessing sound judgement and a can-do attitude
- A commitment to team work and achieving challenging objectives
- Experience in litigation and alternative dispute resolution including appearances at tribunals and/or court.
- Strong academic qualifications.
