What you'll be doing
The Termination of Pregnancy Project Officer is to assist in the implementation of the revised NSW Health Policy Directive Termination of Pregnancy in New South Wales across the local health district.
The Termination of Pregnancy Project Officer will work in partnership with local healthcare providers, internal and external to NSW Health, to improve access to termination of pregnancy care through clear pathways and strengthened relationships. This will include, but is not limited to, acute healthcare services, primary health care providers, non-government organisations and private health providers.
The Termination of Pregnancy Project Officer will work closely with the Ministry of Health during implementation of the revised NSW Health Policy Directive Termination of Pregnancy in New South Wales.
About You
You come across as a confident, capable professional with a strong foundation in health policy implementation and the practical experience needed to turn policy into meaningful outcomes. With relevant tertiary qualifications—or an equivalent blend of study and work experience—you demonstrate the ability to interpret, operationalise and embed policy across complex health environments.
You highlight your experience providing informed, well‑reasoned advice within multi‑disciplinary and multi‑agency settings, showing that you can navigate diverse perspectives while keeping strategic objectives in focus. Building and sustaining relationships with a wide range of stakeholders is clearly one of your strengths, enabling you to drive policy implementation that is collaborative, practical and aligned with service needs.
Your leadership style is grounded in strong communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, allowing you to engage sensitively across both clinical and community contexts. You demonstrate sound organisational capability—able to prioritise, manage tight deadlines and meet targets within defined resources—while maintaining a high standard of work.
You also show the flexibility to work independently or as part of a high‑performing team, supported by strong computer literacy across word processing, data systems and spreadsheets. Your current driver’s licence and willingness to travel reinforce your readiness to support policy work wherever it is needed.
