About the role:
Western Health is seeking a highly motivated Dentist to join our multidisciplinary health team at Dame Phyllis Frost Centre (DPFC), a maximum-security women’s prison in a part time, ongoing capacity. This role involves the assessment and delivery of dental treatment to vulnerable patients.
As our Dentist, you will be part of a well-supported and innovative team and you will be onboarded with orientation and training to the custodial setting, including additional training to support the delivery of culturally appropriate, trauma informed, gender affirming care for all patients, including priority cohorts. This role is both operationally and clinically supported by Western Health staff.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage patients within competency and experience levels as defined by the Western Health (WH) Credentialing and Scope of Practice Committee (and/or College guidelines where appropriate).
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with clinical standards and procedures.
- Maintain a professional approach in relation to work duties including the provision of quality patient service.
- Ensure appropriate referral of patients to specialist services.
About you:
- Bachelor of Dentistry (or equivalent).
- Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a dentist.
- Sound level of clinical competency in all aspects of dentistry.
