Our client, 3 Cheers Cafe, is seeking an experienced full-time Chef to join its kitchen team in Reservoir, Victoria. The position offers an annual salary range of $75,000 to $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
3 Cheers Cafe operates as a full-service restaurant offering a diverse modern Australian menu. Serving freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, and main meal options, the restaurant is known for its quality food, welcoming atmosphere, and commitment to providing a consistent dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and update menus in line with customer demand, seasonal produce, and business needs.
- Develop daily specials and menu improvements to support the restaurant’s food offering.
- Estimate food, labour, and supply costs to support efficient kitchen operations.
- Order food supplies and monitor stock levels to ensure smooth daily service.
- Manage food storage, preservation, and stock rotation to maintain freshness and reduce waste.
- Prepare and cook a range of modern Australian dishes for breakfast, lunch, and main meal service.
- Check food quality, taste, portioning, and presentation at all stages of preparation.
- Coordinate kitchen workflow during service to ensure timely and consistent meal delivery.
- Consult with management, kitchen staff, and wait staff on food preparation and service issues.
- Guide kitchen staff on cooking methods, preparation techniques, and plating standards.
- Assist in selecting, training, and supervising kitchen staff as required.
- Enforce food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety procedures across the kitchen.
Qualifications:
· Must hold Certificate III and Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, along with a Diploma of Hospitality Management.
· Should have at least one (1) year of Australian experience as a professional Chef.
Note: Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
