Reporting to the Superintendent, the Metering Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining and commissioning of electricity metering systems in domestic, commercial and industrial environments.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Installation, maintenance and testing of Whole Current and Low Voltage Current Transformer metering equipment in accordance with the National Electricity Rules and/or regulations and procedures.
- Installation, maintenance and problem solving of communications equipment connected to Whole Current and Low Voltage Current Transformer metering installations.
- Communicates and negotiates with internal and external customers and stakeholders at an intermediate level on matters relating to electricity metering.
- Assist with the completion of documents and other reporting systems and comply with safety and environmental systems and procedures.
- Deliver assigned tasks and activities in an efficient and cost-effective way.
What you bring to the role

The successful candidate will hold a Cert III in Electrotechnology coupled with demonstrated experience in low voltage electricity metering systems.
To be successful, you will also have:
- Class C New South Wales Driver’s Licence
- WH&S Work Cover – general induction
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written skills)
- Excellent organisational and planning skills
- Ability to investigate and solve technical and practical problems
- Basic leadership skills
