Finance Manager
(Preferred 4 Days Per Week)

Heliflite, a leading Australasian helicopter distributor for over 50 years seeks a highly motivated and experienced Finance Manager to join our hardworking passionate team.
Position Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of our business. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, providing strategic financial insights to support business growth, managing budgets and forecasts, and maintaining strong financial controls. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, commercially minded, and highly proficient in Xero. The role is part time, 4 days per week, and offers flexibility to agree on the hours and days worked.
Key Responsibilities
As an experienced Finance Manager, you will:
- Prepare monthly financial reports and financial performance dashboard to support business decision-making
- Analyse financial performance and provide recommendations to management to inform business planning, operational efficiency and growth
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and financial forecasts to support effective financial management
- Prepare and lodge BAS, GST, payroll tax, and other statutory obligations
- Coordinate and liaise with external accountants, including assisting in preparing annual financial reports and tax returns
- Through Xero, reconcile accounts, manage accounts payable/receivable and identify and deliver on process improvements and automation
- Manage fortnightly payroll, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Develop and maintain effective financial controls, policies, and procedures
- Support and mentor finance team members as appropriate
Essential Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- CPA or CA qualification preferred
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a Finance Manager, Senior Accountant, or similar role.
- Advanced Xero experience
- Well-developed understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax requirements
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills with attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, strong organisational skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of payroll/HR related processes
- Experience managing or mentoring staff
