As a Lead Designer in our EI&C Team based in Brisbane, you’ll contribute to
Upstream APLNG gas projects delivering for a key client as their engineering service provider (ESP), plus Aluminium refinery projects ranging from FEEDs to detail designs. You’ll be responsible to:
Lead and deliver EI&C design solutions across major upstream gas and industrial processing projects, including brownfield upgrades and sustaining capital programs.
Own EI&C design deliverables from planning through to execution, ensuring safe, high-quality outcomes that meet client expectations.
Collaborate with local and global teams to deliver innovative solutions across power distribution, MCCs, instrumentation, and control systems.
Champion digital engineering practices and intelligent design tools to enhance project efficiency and delivery excellence.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to designers and modellers within a collaborative, high-performing team.
Build trusted client relationships and contribute to the successful delivery of long-term programs across the energy and industrial sectors.
What you’ll bring
You're someone who thrives in complex engineering environments, builds strong relationships, and is motivated by purposeful work that keeps critical energy assets operating safely and reliably. You will have:
Proven EI&C design experience within upstream oil & gas (ideally coal seam gas), mining, alumina refining, petrochemical, or similar industrial environments.
Strong experience delivering brownfield modifications, sustaining capital projects, and upgrades to operating facilities.
Proficiency with industry-leading design tools such as AutoCAD, Plant 3D, MicroStation, and/or AVEVA, including experience working with intelligent 3D design models.
Solid knowledge of power distribution, MCCs, field instrumentation, and control systems within PLC, SCADA, and DCS environments.
Familiarity with hazardous area design requirements and relevant industry standards.
A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring and coordinating teams across local and global delivery models.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively alongside clients, engineers, operators, and project managers.
The ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver successful outcomes across concurrent projects.
