As an Early Years & Visitor Experience Officer at Hyphen Wodonga Library Gallery, you'll be part of a vibrant community space where every shift brings something different. From helping deliver Storytime and children's activities to welcoming visitors, answering enquiries and assisting people to access library and digital services, you'll help make every visit to Hyphen a positive one.

Key aspects of the role:
- Bring Storytime and community programs to life
Help deliver established Storytime sessions and other early years, children's and community programs that encourage participation, learning and connection. Engage with children and families, assist with activities and help create positive and welcoming experiences.
- Create a welcoming experience for every visitor
Be one of the friendly faces of Hyphen, welcoming customers and visitors and helping them make the most of their visit. Respond to everyday enquiries, provide visitor information and connect people with library, gallery, community and Council services.
- Help people access library and digital services
Support customers to locate library resources, navigate self-service technology and access digital services. Provide friendly, practical assistance that makes it easier for people to find what they need and confidently use Hyphen's services.
- Be part of the day-to-day life of Hyphen
Work alongside the broader Hyphen team to keep the venue running smoothly. From bookings and events to exhibitions, retail transactions and routine administration, you'll contribute to a safe, organised and welcoming space for everyone.
What we're looking for:
We're looking for someone who is approachable, reliable and genuinely enjoys helping people. You'll be comfortable engaging with customers of different ages and backgrounds and working as part of a team in a busy public environment.
You'll also bring:
- Experience in customer service, retail, library, hospitality, tourism, community or visitor services is desirable.
- Confidence communicating with customers, visitors and colleagues in a friendly and professional way.
- An ability to follow established procedures and complete routine tasks accurately.
- Basic computer skills and a willingness to learn library technologies, Council systems and digital services.
- An interest in working with children and families, with experience assisting with Storytime, children's activities or community programs highly regarded.
- Flexibility to work across different areas of Hyphen, including rostered weekend work where required.
