We are looking for a reliable, caring and respectful Disability Support Worker to join our team and provide quality, person-centred support to a participant in their home and community.
Experience in disability support is valued, however training will be provided to the right person. We are looking for someone who is patient, dependable, respectful and genuinely enjoys supporting people to maintain their independence and wellbeing.
Roles and Responsbilities may include:
- Personal care and daily living activities
- Domestic assistance
- Community access and appointments
- Social activities and outings
- Supporting independence and choice
- Providing companionship and respectful, person-centred support
- Completing clear and accurate case notes after each shift
- Recording relevant observations, activities and any concerns in accordance with support requirements
About you:
We are looking for someone who:
- Is reliable, patient and caring
- Has a respectful and person-centred approach
- Is comfortable providing personal care
- Can work independently and follow support plans
- Has good communication skills
- Has a current driver's licence
- Has their own reliable vehicle
- Has full comprehensive car insurance – this is essential
Desirable skills & qualifications
The following are highly regarded but are not essential:
- Auslan skills – a big plus!
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability or a related field
- Certificate or training in medication assistance/medication administration
- Previous experience working in disability support
- Experience with personal care
