Commis / Cook – Breakfast | Part-Time

Blacksmith Bar & Grill, located within voco Melbourne Central, is looking for a passionate and reliable Part-Time Breakfast Commis / Cook to join our kitchen team.
The position level and responsibilities will be offered depending on the successful candidate’s experience and skill level.

About the Role
You will work closely with our kitchen team to prepare and deliver a quality breakfast experience for our hotel guests.
Depending on your experience, responsibilities may include:
- Preparing and cooking breakfast dishes to a consistently high standard
- Manning the egg station during breakfast service and preparing eggs to order including scrambled, fried, poached and omelettes
- Assisting with mise en place and daily kitchen preparation
- Supporting breakfast service during busy periods
- Maintaining excellent food presentation and portion control
- Working efficiently and professionally during high-volume breakfast periods
- Following food safety, hygiene and HACCP procedures
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe kitchen
- Assisting with stock rotation and minimising food wastage
- Supporting the senior Chefs and wider kitchen team as required
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a breakfast, hotel or commercial kitchen environment
- Has experience working an egg station or preparing eggs to order
- Is confident managing an egg station during busy breakfast service
- Is passionate about food and hospitality
- Works well under pressure and as part of a team
- Is reliable, punctual and well organised
- Has a positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Has a good understanding of food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
- Is available for early morning shifts on weekdays, weekends and Public Holidays as required
- Holds relevant Australian working rights
