The Role
The Cleaner in Charge (CIC) is responsible for opening and locking the school, including setting the security alarm system. You would be responsible for liaising with contractors outside of office hours and during school holiday periods as well as monitoring cleaning supply stock levels and arranging ordering of supplies. You would maintain the cleaners’ timebook, report absences and arrange relief staff. As CIC you would be organising and supervising the cleaning staff as well as providing on the job induction training for new cleaning staff. In this role, you would liaise with Manager Corporate Services or line manager on all cleaning matters, ensuring advice and support is current, relevant and consistent with the Department’s policies, training and procedures on school cleaning.
The successful applicant will applicant will ideally have experience in supervising staff, as they will work alongside school staff, have good attention to detail and will be able to work well with others to ensure a clean and safe school environment.
