The Regional Education Offices support schools across metropolitan and regional Western Australia by promoting Department initiatives, providing guidance, quality assurance and operational support, and ensuring the consistent implementation of policies, procedures and legislative requirements. The offices work closely with schools to enhance educational outcomes, strengthen school performance, and support effective governance and accountability.
The Regional Engagement Coordinator operates within the North Metropolitan, South Metropolitan or Southwest Education Region, working collaboratively with schools and stakeholders to support regional priorities, foster engagement, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality education services that enable students to achieve their full potential.
The Role
The Regional Engagement Coordinator provides strategic leadership and advice to schools, principals and regional staff to strengthen student engagement and participation, particularly for students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. The role works collaboratively with schools, school psychologists, participation staff and other system supports to identify engagement challenges, coordinate appropriate interventions, and promote pathways that support positive educational outcomes.
The position leads and supports the implementation of regional and system-wide engagement initiatives, strategies, processes and programs, ensuring schools have access to effective practices and resources to improve student participation. The role also facilitates professional learning, fosters collaboration through regional engagement networks, and strengthens partnerships with government, community and cross-sector agencies to support student engagement and wellbeing.
The Regional Engagement Coordinator monitors and analyses engagement data, evaluates the effectiveness of initiatives, identifies emerging issues and opportunities for improvement, and prepares reports, briefings and recommendations to inform regional planning and decision-making. The role contributes to continuous improvement through evidence-based practice and strategic stakeholder engagement.

Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal communication skills that demonstrate the ability to liaise and consult with individual, groups and organisations in a variety of contexts.
