Job Description
Join our dedicated Environmental Services team as a Casual Housekeeper and play an important role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors and staff. Working as part of a supportive team, you will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness across hospital areas while following infection prevention, workplace health and safety and hospital procedures.

You have a strong work ethic, good attention to detail and understand the importance of maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in a healthcare setting. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and take a professional and respectful approach when interacting with patients, visitors and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities

Clean and maintain patient rooms, wards, bathrooms, offices, common areas and other hospital areas to a high standard.

Perform vacuuming, mopping, dusting and general housekeeping duties.

Remove rubbish and waste safely and in accordance with hospital procedures.

Maintain clean, safe and hygienic environments for patients, visitors and staff.

Follow Infection Prevention and Control and Workplace Health and Safety procedures at all times.

Use cleaning equipment and machinery safely and appropriately.

Restock cleaning supplies and maintain equipment as required.

Identify and report hazards, maintenance issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor.

Work collaboratively with the Environmental Services team to achieve daily cleaning requirements.

Communicate respectfully and professionally with patients, visitors and hospital staff.

Complete other cleaning and housekeeping duties as directed.
You Will Also Bring
-
Previous experience in housekeeping, cleaning or environmental services is desirable.

Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly regarded.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high cleaning standards.

Understanding of infection prevention and hygiene principles.

Ability to follow procedures and work safely.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.
