The Role
At Trinity Green, beautiful gardens and green spaces are at the heart of our community. We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Gardener to join our team on a permanent part-time basis, helping to maintain the stunning grounds that make Trinity Green such a special place to live.
Set amongst lush parklands in the vibrant Mawson Lakes community, Trinity Green offers residents a relaxed and active lifestyle with resort-style amenities, scenic walking paths, and beautifully landscaped gardens. As a valued member of our team, you will play an important role in creating and maintaining welcoming outdoor spaces for our residents to enjoy every day.
In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for maintaining gardens, lawns, and outdoor areas across the village, ensuring they remain safe and well-presented. You'll take pride in nurturing established gardens and helping to preserve the natural beauty of the village grounds.
Reporting to the Village Manager, your duties will include:
- Maintaining lawns, garden beds, trees, shrubs and landscaped areas throughout the village
- Looking after the shared garden spaces and general garden maintenance
- Mowing, hedging, edging and whipper snipping
- Planting, weeding, spraying, pruning, trimming and clearing leaves
- Watering, monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems
- Collecting and disposing of green waste and garden debris
- Keeping tools and equipment in good shape
- Ensuring all gardening activities are carried out safely and in line with workplace health and safety requirements
Shifts
- Wednesday: 7am – 3pm
- Thursday: 7am – 3pm
- Friday: 7am – 3pm
Our preferred working days for this position are outlined above; however, we recognise the importance of flexibility and may be able to consider alternative arrangements for the right candidate. If you have specific availability requirements, please include these in your cover letter for consideration. Please note that availability to work on Fridays is an essential requirement of this role.
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Demonstrated experience in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture is highly regarded
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- A genuine interest in assisting the independent living seniors
- Experience with maintaining, monitoring and troubleshooting irrigation systems is highly regarded
- Skilled in pruning, planting and soil preparation
- Experience operating and maintaining gardening tools and equipment safely
- Attention to detail and pride in delivering high standards of garden presentation
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills for interacting with residents and staff in a friendly, professional manner
- Knowledge of safe work practices and commitment to workplace health and safety
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain one)
