Khaja Catering is looking for a reliable Cook / Kitchen Assistant to join our Nepalese catering team.
This role will mainly involve cooking and prep work for catering orders. The job requires cooking Nepalese cuisine, so knowledge and experience with Nepalese food is mandatory.
Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is also mandatory. The right person should be confident working in a busy kitchen, able to follow recipes and instructions accurately, and capable of working independently when required.
Main duties include:
- Cooking Nepalese cuisine for catering orders
- Food preparation for catering jobs
- Portioning, packing, and organising catering food
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and food safety standards
- Assisting with stock preparation and general kitchen tasks
- Helping the team during busy catering periods
Requirements:
- Knowledge and experience with Nepalese cuisine is essential
- Previous commercial kitchen experience is essential
- Must be reliable, organised, and able to work independently
- Must be available to work any day of the week, depending on catering orders
- Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
- Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety
Highly regarded but not essential:
- Ability to drive
- Cafe kitchen experience
- Customer service experience
- Coffee-making/barista skills
This position would suit someone who is hardworking, flexible, and comfortable working in a small catering kitchen environment.
