Botanica Wellness Pharmacy is a modern boutique pharmacy specialising in medicinal cannabis and personalised healthcare. We work closely with patients and prescribing clinicians to deliver a seamless dispensing experience, ensuring patients receive exceptional care from prescription through to delivery.
As our pharmacy continues to grow, we are seeking a highly organised and proactive Pharmacy Technician to become an integral part of our dispensary team.
About the Role
This role is centred around the dispensing of medicinal cannabis prescriptions, inventory management, and maintaining strong relationships with our patients and partner clinics. You will work closely with our pharmacists to ensure prescriptions are processed efficiently while providing outstanding customer service and ongoing support to patients throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities
Dispensing & Prescription Management
- Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medicinal cannabis prescriptions.
- Process prescriptions accurately using Minfos dispensing software.
- Ensure prescriptions are prepared efficiently for pharmacist final checking.
- Coordinate daily dispensing workflow to maintain prompt turnaround times.
- Assist with packing and dispatching medications for Australia-wide delivery.
Inventory & Stock Control
- Manage inventory levels across all medicinal cannabis products.
- Order stock from wholesalers and manufacturers.
- Monitor stock availability and communicate supply shortages to pharmacists and partner clinics.
- Conduct regular stocktakes and stock rotation.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
Patient & Clinic Relationship Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for patients regarding prescription status, ordering and general enquiries.
- Liaise with prescribing doctors and partner clinics regarding prescriptions, repeats and patient requirements.
- Schedule telehealth consultations and follow-up appointments for patients requiring ongoing medical review.
- Coordinate repeat prescription requests and ensure continuity of treatment.
- Build strong professional relationships with patients through exceptional customer service and ongoing support.
Administration
- Maintain accurate patient records and prescription documentation.
- Process online and telephone orders.
- Assist with invoicing and payment enquiries.
- Support the day-to-day operation of the dispensary.
About You
The successful applicant will possess:
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician or Dispensary Technician.
- Experience using Minfos or similar pharmacy dispensing software.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Confidence liaising with patients, doctors and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to prioritise competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- A professional, compassionate and patient-focused approach.
Highly Desirable
- Previous experience dispensing medicinal cannabis prescriptions.
- Knowledge of Schedule 8 medication requirements.
- Experience managing pharmacy inventory and purchasing.
- Experience coordinating patient bookings or working with medical clinics.
