About the Role
The Community Strengthening Officer supports the development of strong inclusive and connected communities across the municipality by fostering participation, building social connections and enabling community-led initiatives that enhance wellbeing and quality of life. The role focuses on improving access and inclusion for First Nations peoples, multicultural communities and other under represented groups, ensuring all residents have opportunities to engage in community life.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Support community-led initiatives, programs and activities that strengthen participation, social connection, inclusion and community wellbeing across the municipality.
- Contribute to the activation of community spaces and places through programs, events and initiatives that encourage community participation and connection.

Skills and Experiences:
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Community Development, Social Sciences, Social Work or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in community development, engagement or social inclusion roles.
- Experience working with diverse communities and stakeholders.
- Ability to support and deliver programs and initiatives.
- Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently under general direction.
