We are seeking a reliable and practical Transport & Facilities Officer to support the day-to-day operation of our community hub.
This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with people over 50, driving, being hands-on and helping keep a community facility safe, welcoming and well organised.
About the role
The successful applicant will provide safe and respectful transport for our members while also assisting with basic property maintenance, gardening, room setup and general operational tasks.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Transporting members safely to and from the community hub and approved activities.
- Providing appropriate assistance to members entering and exiting vehicles.
- Completing vehicle safety checks and reporting defects.
- Basic gardening and grounds maintenance.
- Undertaking minor, non-trade maintenance.
- Setting up and packing down rooms and activities.
- Moving furniture and equipment safely.
- Collecting supplies and completing occasional errands.
- Identifying and reporting hazards and maintenance issues.
- Supporting the team with general practical tasks.
About you
You will be someone who is:
- Reliable and punctual.
- A confident and safe driver.
- Friendly, respectful and comfortable working with older people.
- Practical and willing to get hands-on.
- Able to work independently while following organisational procedures.
- Comfortable undertaking basic maintenance and gardening.
- Safety-conscious and able to identify hazards.
- Professional and respectful of client privacy and dignity.
Essential requirements
- Current Australian open driver’s licence.
- Safe driving history check or willing to obtain.
- Ability to safely assist clients with vehicle access.
- Ability to undertake basic maintenance and gardening tasks.
- Current or willingness to obtain First Aid and CPR.
- Current Police check (aged care) or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to work within organisational WHS and client-safety procedures.
- Working rights in Australia.
Desirable experience
Experience in aged care, community services, disability services, facilities, transport, gardening or general maintenance will be highly regarded.

Pay: $36.00 – $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 20.0 per week
