About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Assistant to work in our Molecular Infectious laboratory. We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate, vibrant and engaged team. Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Preparing specimens for testing via molecular biology techniques.
-
Routine receipting and processing of specimens, including pre- and post-analytical handling.
- Operating pre-analytical and analytical instrumentation and equipment.
- Preparing reagents for use in molecular biology techniques.
- Performing regular maintenance, cleaning and/or basic troubleshooting on instrumentation and equipment.
- Maintaining accurate records of processes and procedures performed in the laboratory in a timely manner.

Responding to general queries received in the Molecular Infectious laboratory.
- Participating in training for relevant techniques and instrumentation/equipment operation.
- Escalating any issues to senior staff in the Molecular Infectious laboratory.

Complying with relevant accreditation, quality assurance and WHS requirements.
About You

Previous laboratory experience is desirable, but not essential.

Certificate in Laboratory Techniques is desirable, but not essential.
Requirements
Ability to provide evidence of immunisation requirements, including Hepatitis B
