- Secure clear career trajectory with structured advancement into farm management
- Engage in diverse operations across 3,500 acres of irrigated & dryland crops.
- Benefit from an attractive package including a premium on-site cottage.
The Role
A family-owned business based in Corinella, NSW, our client has spent the last five to six years establishing their dual-farm operation. Having recently acquired their second property, they are now entering an exciting phase of capital development and expansion, seeking a permanent team member who is eager to contribute to the long-term success of the business.
This pivotal position offers an ambitious individual the opportunity to immerse themselves in the day-to-day strategic planning and operational execution of a 3,500-acre agricultural enterprise whilst working alongside a small team of casual employees. As you work closely with the ownership team, you will take charge of diverse responsibilities, including undertaking all elements of the cropping cycle as well as high-precision tractor and laser bucket work, while overseeing overhead and bankless irrigation systems that underpin the productivity of the summer cropping program. You will also take ownership of the maintenance and repair of all farm machinery and site infrastructure, ensuring that every asset is kept in peak mechanical condition to support the continuity and efficiency of the entire farming program.
Beyond the standard technical requirements, the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate a high degree of initiative, effectively acting as a right-hand to the owner and ensuring that all dryland winter cropping and irrigated summer programs are executed with the highest standards of efficiency and safety.
A unique dimension of this role involves providing critical ground crew and chemical mixing support to the affiliated aerial spraying business during periods when the farming schedule permits, ensuring a truly multifaceted and engaging work environment that spans across both land and air operations.
The Offer
To reflect the importance of this leadership-track role, our client is offering a highly competitive salary, further enhanced by the provision of a dedicated work vehicle and premium on-site accommodation in a modern 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom cottage. Perhaps the most compelling aspect of this offer is the chance to lead the implementation of a brand-new irrigation system on the second farm, providing a rare opportunity to leave a lasting mark on the property's infrastructure while developing advanced technical management skills.
This package is designed for a professional seeking long-term security and the chance to thrive within a multifaceted business that rewards hard work with clear opportunities for career progression into senior management roles.
The Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated individual who thrives in an autonomous work environment and is eager to take the next step in their agricultural career.
- Proven experience in cropping, including operating tractors and large farm machinery.
- A positive attitude combined with the ability to work independently with minimal instruction.
- Ideally, candidates will hold an HR licence and relevant agricultural qualifications, though expertise is prioritised.
- A commitment to safety and efficiency in all daily farming operations.
- Strong communication skills with the desire to step up into a leadership capacity.
By joining this progressive team, you are not just taking a job but becoming an integral part of a business that values stability and offers a supportive environment where your contributions directly influence the ongoing development of their expanding footprint.
